Coast to Coast Masonry did work for our house, involving: chimney repair/rebuild, fireplace cleaning/repair, liner install, and custom removal of some fragile terra cotta blocks. Specifically, I'm writing in regards to our main contact for the job: Art Zuber. While I met some of the other workers briefly, Art was the main person we communicated while Coast to Coast Masonry was on site. I want to convey how immensely grateful we were to have Art leading the work. As a homeowner, this work is one of the more involved endeavors we've undertaken, and I went into things with some degree of concern/worry. In talking with Art, he put both me and my wife at ease with his knowledge, with his explanations, and with his kind interactions. Generally, contractors come in and want to know the task to be done, and then do the task. Working with Art, it felt like we had a partner in our project. He wasn't simply doing what he was told, he wasn't simply telling us how things needed to be... it felt like he was standing side by side with us. And that we were tackling the project together. When issues or questions arose, Art gave us options and recommendations. But at no time did I feel pressured in any way. Art was always clear that the ultimate decision was ours, but he provided excellent counsel on our way to that decision. There was more than one time where Art stayed late (after 5PM), talking with us and our ever-growing list of questions. His patience and his explanations were invaluable to us, and to say he went above and beyond is an understatement. In addition to the excellent work done by the Coast to Coast masons, I cannot emphasize how much we enjoyed working with Art, and how helpful he was. Rest assured that I will be recommending Coast to Coast to my friends and neighbors, and will be telling them to ask for Art as well.Posted on Google![]()

I couldn't be happier with the work done by Coast to Coast Masonry. From start to finish, the entire process was incredible. Their attention to detail and commitment to quality is truly commendable. The team went above and beyond when they managed to find and use cinder blocks that perfectly match the original 1917 ones on my property. This dedication to historical accuracy is rare and speaks volumes about their expertise. Not only was the masonry work itself flawless, but the team was also super respectful and made sure to clean up the area meticulously once the job was complete. A special shout-out to Roman, who was great to work with—professional, knowledgeable, and ensured everything ran smoothly. To top it all off, the price was fantastic for the high-quality, customized work we received. If you need any masonry work done, I highly recommend Coast to Coast Masonry. They deliver incredible results, offer great value, and treat your property with care.Posted on Google![]()

Coast to Coast including Kevin and the team of four masons who worked on our house provided EXCELLENT service. Communication was always clear and quick. They were very accommodating to working with a tight timeframe we had. They completed extensive work including removal and reconstruction of a parapet wall, tuck pointing, sourcing new bricks and utilizing older bricks where they would be more visible, replacing glass bricks and exterior wall reconstruction for some crumbling bricks that had been previously covered with stucco. All of this work was completed in approximately 1 week, they left things extremely clean at the end of each day. This to say, we highly recommend the Coast to Coast team!Posted on Google![]()

We had an excellent experience with Coast To Coast Masonry! They were incredibly professional and punctual, arriving exactly when they said they would and completed the work efficiently. They replaced the crowns and brick on two fireplaces, and the finished product looks seamless—like it was always meant to be there. Coast To Coast Masonry Group, Inc. — Serving Chicagoland Since 1994
Masonry Repair & Restoration Across Chicago & the Suburbs
For over 30 years, Coast To Coast Masonry Group, Inc. has delivered expert brick repair, tuckpointing, chimney restoration, and waterproofing services to homeowners, condo associations, and commercial property owners across Chicago and the surrounding communities. Local knowledge. Owner-led estimates. No middlemen.
Why Local Experience Matters
Chicago Masonry Requires Chicagoland Knowledge
Masonry damage in the Chicago area is driven almost entirely by climate — specifically by the aggressive freeze-thaw cycles that occur dozens of times each winter. Water infiltrates microscopic cracks in mortar and brick, freezes, expands, and forces the damage wider. Repeat this cycle 30 or 40 times per winter and the cumulative effect is significant.
That is why masonry repairs in this region require more than general contractor knowledge. They require an understanding of local brick types, historical building practices, the specific failure patterns common to different suburbs and neighborhoods, and how to specify materials that will actually hold up in Chicago's climate — not just look good for a season.
Since 1994, CTC Masonry has worked on thousands of properties across the region. We know the brick. We know the buildings. We know what fails and why — and we fix it correctly the first time.

Most of these buildings were constructed between 1900 and 1960, which means the masonry is now 65 to 125 years old and in consistent need of professional maintenance.
CTC Masonry serves all Chicago neighborhoods for tuckpointing, chimney repair, lintel replacement, parapet wall work, brick restoration, and waterproofing. We work with individual homeowners, building owners, property managers, and condo associations throughout the city.

Our Advantage
Why 30 Years of Local Experience Makes a Difference
Masonry repair in the Chicago region is not a general trade — it requires specific knowledge of local conditions, materials, and building history that only comes from decades of hands-on work in this specific environment.
Chicago Freeze-Thaw Expertise
Chicago experiences 30–50 freeze-thaw cycles per average winter. We specify materials with the thermal movement coefficients and water resistance required to survive this specific climate — not just general masonry specifications from a textbook.
Local Brick Knowledge
Different Chicago suburbs were built with different brick sources and compositions. We know which brick types are used in which communities, where to source matching brick for repairs, and how each type responds to weathering and repair techniques.
Building Age Context
A 1920s Evanston brick building requires a completely different approach than a 1970s Arlington Heights ranch. We know the construction practices of each era, the failure patterns common to each building type, and how to address root causes rather than symptoms.
